Trump praises Lara for Mar-a-Lago dog rescue fundraiser, where he said ‘US is in trouble’

Donald Trump attended his daughter-in-law Lara’s fashion show at Mar-a-Lago, where the former president took the stage to promote his 2024 run at a fundraiser for a dog rescue.

After praising his son Eric Trump’s wife, Lara, for her efforts to help with the fundraising runway show, the former president took the stage to make a few comments to the friendly crowd.

“Remember this — we’ve got a country that’s in trouble,” Trump said as he stood on the runway and grabbed the mic for a few quick words.

“We will Make America Great Again,” he added to the cheers of the crowd. “We’ll make it better than ever before.”

Lara strutted down the runway in a blue corset dress for a Mar-a-Lago fundraiser as Kimberley Guilfoyle, longtime partner of Donald Trump Jr., filmed her proudly just hours after the pair spoke on CPAC.

Lara wore a flowing blue dress by Parisian designer Anne Fontaine.

After the fashion show, a woman in a zebra-print minidress welcomed former President Trump to the stage and handed him the microphone. An orchestral instrumental version of the Village People hit YMCA played over the speakers in the background.

“I assume Lara is somewhere nearby,” Trump said, scanning the crowd for his daughter-in-law, who stood behind him on stage.

“She’s so incredible, so amazing,” he continued. She wanted to make this very special this year. She worked with the group behind me and the group in front of me.’

Trump wore a navy blue suit and a red tie.

The ex-commander-in-law’s daughter-in-law seemed to be having the time of her life on the show. She waved her hair, played for the cameras and twirled while showing off her legs in nude high heels.

“Someone (@bigdogranchrescue) made me pretend to be a model again today,” she wrote on social media, thanking the charity for participating.

Guilfoyle – girlfriend of the ex-president’s eldest son, Don Jr., did not go off the runway, but posted a video of Trump and photos with her fiancé’s sister-in-law.

The two-day event — titled “Wine, WoMEN and Shoes” — was held at the President’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and run by Big Dog Ranch Rescue.

The former made a surprise cameo at the 2021 event.

He called Lara, who helps put the event together, “incredible” before teasing at an eventual Senate battle for his daughter-in-law that never materialized.

Big Dog Ranch Rescue promotes itself as “the largest no-cage dog rescue in the US.” We are committed to rescuing, caring for and adopting dogs into loving homes.”

Their president and founder Laurie Simmons – like both Trump and Guilfoyle – has often been a guest of Tucker Carlson on his Fox News show.

In a press release honoring Eric’s mother Ivana Trump following her death in 2022, the organization noted that “Eric and Lara Trump regularly participate in BDRR fundraisers to save dogs and that Lara has been instrumental in bringing about legislation preventing animal cruelty, including the ban on greyhound racing in Florida.”

A 2021 report from HuffPost claimed the organization has spent as much as $1.9 million on Trump’s properties in recent years.

“The quality of the service, the beauty of the venue and the excellent rate have earned us as a non-profit, as well as the generosity of supporters who sell out our event there each year, enabling us to rescue and house thousands of dogs. ‘

“Our investment there and at the other locations mentioned in the article has generated more than $12 million over an eight-year period, enabling us to continue our mission,” Simmons said in a statement expressing her ties to the family. Trump defended.

Lara Trump served as an advisor to her father-in-law’s 2020 presidential campaign and spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference at Maryland’s Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center this weekend.

“America is crumbling under Joe Biden,” she said during her speech, praising Trump’s efforts to lower unemployment compared to Biden’s.

Former President Trump again dominated the poll at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, with 62 percent of polled attendees saying they want him as the 2024 GOP nominee.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who skipped the annual confab that returned to the DC suburbs this year, was second again with 20 percent support.

Trump improved his performance from last February’s CPAC, where he received 55 percent support, while DeSantis’ support held steady. Last year, he got 21 percent when the conference was held in his home state of Florida.

Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, who continues to falsely claim to have won her election, was voted the top choice to become Trump’s vice president.
