Protesters clashed at a transgender rights rally in Melbourne as British anti-trans activist Kellie-Jay Keen continued her national tour in Victoria.
About 30 people from the alt-right National Socialist Movement marched down Spring Street near the Victorian Parliament on Saturday afternoon.
Disturbing footage showed masked protesters holding signs calling out offensive names to transgender people and giving Nazi salutes.
Ms Keen, a self-described transphobe, had come to Melbourne after traveling around Australia for the past week, visiting Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide.
Controversial former Liberal candidate Katherine Deves was one of the guest speakers as the protest turned wild.
Officers arrested at least two people, sprayed pepper spray, while a transgender rights activist managed to interrupt a speech on the steps of Parliament House by grabbing the microphone from one of the speakers.

Police officers were forced to create a line to separate transgender rights activists from clashes with members of the alt-right group.
In one video, the masked men can be seen marching down the street as trans rights activists shout over the wall of cops.
“F*** you, Nazis,” one woman yelled. “F*** you!”
The pro-trans group had signs with messages like “women are not defined by their bodies.”
An activist screamed as she was pulled across the ground by two officers by her arms.
Another pair of officers were forced to intervene when an anti-trans activist and protester fought over an Australian flag.
Spring Street remained closed to traffic in both directions.
Ms. Keen, also known as Posie Parker, tours the country visiting Perth, Brisbane and Sydney.
She believes it is impossible to change gender and campaigns to exclude trans women from female-only spaces.
She also argues that trans people should be called dead and have no right to choose their own pronouns.

Ms Keen has sparked backlash with transgender rights activists during her tour who showed up in Sydney last Saturday.
LGBTQI+ groups shouted chants of ‘bigots and anti-queer TERFS are not welcome here’ as Ms. Keen addressed the crowd.
TERF is an acronym for trans-exclusionary radical feminist and describes those feminists who reject the claim that transgender women are women.
Ms Keen has drawn strong criticism from many groups in the past, including for allegedly posing with a campaigner celebrating the death of Winnie Mandela and calling the anti-apartheid fighter ‘a whore’ and ‘white farmer who c***’ .
She has also been criticized by a British MP for saying access to abortion and contraception should be reversed for children and teenagers.
Ms Keen recently raised her eyebrows after criticizing UK MP Jess Phillips for reading out the name of teenage trans murder victim Brianna Ghey in the House of Commons during an International Women’s Day speech.
She has also spoken to a number of figures in far-right groups, including Christopher Barcenas, a member of the Proud Boys who was impeached by the US government for his presence in the January 6 Capitol riots.
