Tracy Grimshaw has spoken out after an awkward interaction between her and her rumored A Current Affair replacement, Allison Langdon, was caught on camera.

Footage of Grimshaw walking through an honor guard after her latest show on Thursday night showed the TV veteran appearing to reject a hug from Langdon.

Grimshaw explained that she was simply “nervous” and was taken by surprise when her colleagues said goodbye to her.

“It has come to my attention that some people are seriously suggesting that I snub Ally here,” Grimshaw, 62, wrote on Twitter.

‘Of course I didn’t and I wouldn’t. He was excited and nervous and completely overwhelmed and I just didn’t see her.

Grimshaw wrapped up her 17-year tenure as host of the show on Thursday night and was sent off to cheers, hugs and well wishes from her Channel Nine colleagues as she left the ACA studio for the last time.

Embracing several staff members, including Karl Stefanovic and Peter Overton, Grimshaw walked past Langdon, who had his arms outstretched to hug her.

But Grimshaw brushed past her roughly, appearing to meet her eyes and shake his head before embracing Stefanovic.

A source has since claimed that Grimshaw had “disliked Langdon for a long time” and that the Today show host had been “destroying her work” on the network.

“Tracy just doesn’t like Ally,” a source told The daily telegraph .

It’s as simple as that. Tracy is not capable of pretending, if she doesn’t like someone, she will show it.

“Ally has made no secret that she wants the hosting job at ACA and that hasn’t gone down well with Tracy.”

Speaking on the Today show on Friday morning, Langdon also addressed the awkward moment, admitting that he “didn’t get much sleep” after the incident.

“That’s where my heart breaks,” Langdon said as he watched the clip.

‘I am devastated. I mean, I addressed you at the time saying “Tracy Grimshaw just brushed me off.” When your hero brushes against you, I must say it hurts.

Stefanovic said Grimshaw had written a statement and apologized to Langdon for snubbing her on the honor guard.

“Ally, I just watched the honor guard last night and saw you come in to give me a hug,” Grimshaw said in his statement.

And I hugged bloody Karl! I’m sorry I missed you. He was so overwhelmed and I obviously didn’t see your little head once the big boofhead of his came into view. So sorry.

‘I am devastated. I mean, I turned to you at that point and said, “Tracy Grimshaw just brushed me off.” When your hero brushes against you, I must say it hurts,” she said.

‘Oh relief!’ Stefanovic sighed, describing the moment as one of the “biggest slights on Australian television”.

Langdon is heavily tipped to replace Grimshaw as host of the show and Nine is expected to make an announcement next week.

Kyle Sandilands appeared to confirm that Langdon will replace Grimshaw during an interview with the longtime presenter on Wednesday.

Speaking to Grimshaw on his KIIS FM radio show, the shock jock said he knew he was the host of the Today show.

Sandilands claimed she had had a private conversation with Langdon’s Today show co-host Karl Stefanovic, who has been asking her advice on a possible replacement for her.

“I feel like I know, because I’ve been talking to [Karl] Stefanovic’, he told Grimshaw after questioning her on the issue of his replacement.

‘Well, let me tell everyone that it’s Ally. I’m not trying to burst the Channel Nine bubble.

Sandilands said Stefanovic did not tell her that their chat was “confidential.”

‘Maybe it was a personal chat? I don’t know… But she didn’t ask me not to say anything,’ she continued.

Grimshaw remained coy when asked about the rumors about who would be her replacement, saying all the candidates for the job are “exemplary people.”

“I certainly hope Channel Nine replaces me with a flop,” he joked.

‘But unfortunately they replace me with someone excellent.’

“I can’t give you a clue, but you’ll know very soon,” he added. I wouldn’t be surprised if you found out next week.

During her final show, a tearful Grimshaw thanked Australians for supporting A Current Affair as a host of famous faces said goodbye to the long-time host after 17 years on the show.

The TV veteran was honored by celebrities and everyday Australians whom her show has helped over the years, and her replacement has yet to be announced.

The host, who has interviewed Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Celine Dion and Sharon Stone over her 40-year career, was presented with a bouquet of flowers as she told viewers they would “soon” find out who would take her place.

“I’m terrible with the GB word, you know, the one that ends with ‘bye’ and starts with ‘fine’ because I’m going to whine and everyone knows it won’t be pretty,” Grimshaw said.

“But seriously, when I started here, my bosses at the time were saying they didn’t like interviews that were longer than four minutes because you’d get bored.

And now look at us. The whole show gets to do interviews like that because you’ve told us you love them. Thanks for watching.’

Grimshaw paid tribute to the entire Channel Nine team and gave a special shout out to ‘Daria’, who said she has done her auto-cue since the Today Show.

A number of high-profile Australians paid tribute to Grimshaw, with colleagues praising his journalistic skill and ability to connect with everyday Australians.

Anthony Albanese, Hamish and Andy, Kyle Sandilands, Ita Buttrose, John Howard, Ray Hadley and Leigh Sales were just some of the familiar faces.

Albanese asked if Australian television would ever be the same again, while Kyle Sandilands applauded Grimshaw for always putting his guests at ease.

During his final episode, Grimshaw spoke to the victims of the flooding in Eugowra, in the mid-west New South Wales town, who received a $50,000 donation from Coles live-on-air.

The show took a trip down memory lane, returning to some of Grimshaw’s most notable interviews, including Sue and Lloyd Clarke, the parents of domestic violence victim Hannah Clarke, the Irwin family, and Olivia Newton John.

Grimshaw’s emotional farewell comes just weeks after the former Today presenter arrived in Melbourne to film her “very special hometown episode” which aired last week.

In September, the veteran host announced that she would be leaving A Current Affair, later revealing that she was planning to take a year off to alter her work-life balance.
