Tom Cruise beats Robin Williams to be voted the sexiest male actor of all time by the experts… mamas!

Tom Cruise is the most handsome movie star, according to the world’s leading experts… mothers.

The Top Gun actor tipped prankster Robin Williams to the No. 1 spot in a poll for Mothering Sunday.

Showcase Cinemas asked 2,000 of them to choose the sexiest male actors of all time and their favorite movie.

Cruise, 60, received the most votes, while The Sound Of Music, starring Julie Andrews and released in 1965, was cited as the most loved film.

Jon Dixon of Showcase Cinemas said, ‘The Sound of Music came out number one, but it was extremely tight with so many classics making the top ten.

“Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise topped the list of favorite movie stars, just surpassing Robin Williams.”

Trailing Cruise and Good Will Hunting star Williams were Tom Hanks, Patrick Swayze, Robert Redford and John Wayne.

The second placed film was Titanic, followed by the Abba musical Mamma Mia!, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing and Gone With The Wind.
