Terrifying moment when the giant alligator BENDS the newly erected metal fence at the Florida golf club

Video camera captured a terrifying moment when a huge alligator just ripped through a newly erected metal fence at a Florida golf club.

The incident, captured earlier this week, comes just weeks after an 85-year-old woman was killed by a massive alligator in the Sunshine State.

A local meteorologist shared the video from the coastal town of Placida, which has more than a million views on Facebook and 50,000 likes on Instagram.

“Watch this big guy bend the aluminum bars and plow through them this week in Placida,” wrote Matt Devitt. Aluminum is considered a lightweight metal, which explains how the massive alligator was able to get through the fence so easily, Devitt explained to Fox 35.

But much thinner materials are also being used to build porch dividers meant to keep the reptiles out of people’s gardens, raising fears about what would happen if this alligator encountered such an obstacle.

Florida alligators are known to move more in the spring and have climbed fences in the past, but this gator clearly wanted a more direct route.

Devitt noted that the person who originally took the video said the gator eventually completely worked its way to the other side.

“He knows what he’s doing…he’s done it before,” one Facebook commenter joked on Devitt’s post.

“That’s why in Florida, if there’s a body of water, there’s an alligator in it!” Stay safe people!,” another chimed in on Instagram.

The state is home to about 1.3 million alligators and when they exceed four feet in length, they are considered a threat to humans.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has removed four of the reptiles from the lakes of the fenced Spanish Lakes Fairways communities after 85-year-old Gloria Serge was killed in a brutal attack.

She was mauled by the 10-foot alligator named Henry when she tried to save her beloved dog Trooper from the beast.

Henry was later captured and euthanized, while three other reptiles were subsequently captured and removed from the series of interconnected lakes by conservationists.

Fighting to save Gloria, a terrified neighbor called 911 after witnessing the alligator eat lunch after chasing her 100 feet.

Her dog, Trooper, survived the attack and the reptile was captured and euthanized after her death.

Judy Murray, Gloria’s neighbor, told the story TMZ that she saw authorities remove all gators from the communities’ lakes.

But she’s not clear where the gators were taken after they were removed, with some photos of the beasts being tied and tied before officials moved them further.

There are five to six lakes in the community, and Judy said she’s not normally afraid of the gators.

She added that Gloria may have had a “senior moment” when she chose to walk along the waterfront with Trooper — with the pup returning to her family.

Jay Mandelker, president of the Spanish Lakes Fairways HOA, said the gators were removed to calm residents’ jittery fears.

He told TCPalm: ‘They did this to allay any concerns and to make us aware of the precautions we should take with regard to wild animals, especially alligators.

Gloria Serge (pictured) was a grandmother living in the Spanish Lakes Fairways retirement community in Fort Pierce, Florida, when she was killed by an alligator on Monday.

“If you walk by a lake, a pond, anywhere in Florida, understand this is Florida, there may be alligators, so don’t run into the edges of a pond or lake, keep a safe distance.”

Gloria’s final moments were captured on a wildlife camera at the Spanish Lakes Fairways retirement community in Fort Pierce, Florida.

She can be seen along the lake with her dog when the gator surfaces and then swings at the couple.

The 85-year-old tried to get the dog away from the gator’s jaws, but the gator grabbed her instead and was seen dragging her into the lake.

Her frightened neighbor Carole Thomas, 76, told Inside Edition that she tried to help the woman while she was on the phone with 911.

She said, “There is a woman in the lake. The alligator has hair! I think she’s gone, oh my god.’

Thomas said she got a pole to try and pull the woman ashore, but said, “I couldn’t possibly have gotten to her sooner.”

She added: “It’s terrible for her family. It’s just awful, awful. And her friends, I spoke to some of her friends yesterday who are devastated.’

Her body was later recovered from the lake.

Local residents told Inside Edition that the alligator was a fixture in the neighborhood and called them Henry.

Florida authorities are warning residents against walking their pets near ponds in area lakes.

Gloria is the third victim killed by an alligator in Florida since last July.
