Taylor Swift will receive a major honor ahead of her three-night weekend run in Arlington, Texas.

On Thursday, the city announced that the 33-year-old pop superstar — who was honored this week with the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards — would receive a key to the city.

In a city press releaseArlington boasted that it “entered a friendly competition with other U.S. cities hosting The Eras Tour to showcase its “reputation” as one of Swift’s biggest fans.”

It noted that Las Vegas had recently lit up its Gateway Arches in colors that correspond to different eras of Swift’s career, while also poking fun at Glendale, Arizona, for going overboard by briefly changing its name to Swift City.

Arlington hoped it had struck a suitable middle ground by renaming a street after the Anti-Hero singer.

The city said it would put up a temporary street sign to rename Randol Mill Road to Taylor Swift Way for the coming weekend when she’s in town.

Fans were encouraged to stop by the temporary sign for photo opportunities, as the AT&T Stadium where she will be performing is visible in the background from that location.

Arlington Mayor Jim Ross, who was described as a “Swiftie,” declared it was “Taylor Swift Weekend.”

A set of four-story steel sculptures in front of City Hall would also be illuminated with red light, in honor of her hugely successful 2012 album, of which she recently released a recorded version.

Mayor Ross intended to be the person to hand Swift her key to the city, which he hoped she could “cherish Forever & Always.”

Arlington has also devised a plan to help cats in need of rescue, inspired by Taylor’s famous feline friends.

City residents could adopt a cat (or other animal) from Arlington Animal Services for $40, “in honor of Swift’s 40 Top 10 Hits.”

Animals that had been at the shelter for a long time or were elderly could be adopted for just $9,” in honor of Swift’s 9 No. 1 hits’.

Taylor’s triumphant tour stop in Arlington comes just days after she was honored with the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards Monday.

While accepting the award, the singer-songwriter spoke of her desire to try new things instead of focusing on making tried and tested music.

She also said part of her secret was that she gave herself “permission to fail” as she tried to turn her career upside down.

Taylor concluded by noting that she gives herself permission to fail, and she urged her fans to give themselves that same permission.
