Sydney’s Palm Tree Music Festival: Revelers head to a grand concert

Dance music fans have donned their best for a one-night music festival.

The Palm Tree International Festival reached Sydney on Friday night and saw thousands of Aussies flock to Olympic Park to see world famous DJs Tiësto and Kygo.

The huge music event started at 7pm at Sydney Showground, but many attendees were already on their way to the venue by 4pm.

Standard tickets cost revelers $165 to see performances by Frank Walker, Sam Feldt and Lost Frequencies before the night ended with headline acts Kygo and Tiësto.

The festival’s dress code was anything bright, glittery, and colorful.

The Palm Tree music festival was only in Sydney for one day.

Organizers head to Brisbane on Saturday, followed by Melbourne Showground on Sunday, coinciding with Victoria’s bank holiday long weekend.

All three shows will feature the same highly anticipated lineup.

Developed by Kygo, Palm Tree Music Festival is inspired by the bonds and memories forged with friends from years of touring around the world, Palm Tree said of the Sydney event.

“With previous events in The Hamptons New York, Cabo Mexico and Novalja, Croatia, gear up and get your crew ready to make your own memories with this one-of-a-kind music event.”

The evening ended with a set by Dutch DJ Tiësto, one of the biggest names in the electronic music world of the past two decades.

He first gained mainstream attention in 2000 with his remix of Delerium’s ‘Silence’.

Recent hits include 2020’s ‘The Business’ and 2022’s Charlie XCX collaboration ‘Hot In It’.

It comes less than a week after NSW officers gathered for the closing concert of Sydney World Pride last Sunday.

Friday night’s event concluded at around 11pm with NSW Transport urging attendees to ‘consider all available travel options in advance’.

“There are regular trains to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the site is a short walk from the station,” it said.
