A tourist in Bali has suffered six broken ribs and a fractured skull after he and his girlfriend claimed they were robbed while riding a motorbike in the holiday hotspot.
Dilor Yeretzian and his partner Cosette Karam, both from Lebanon and now living in Sydney, were enjoying their last night on the Indonesian holiday island last Monday when they decided to go for a midnight run at McDonald’s.
The pair were riding home from the fast food restaurant on a scooter when Ms. Karam pulled out her phone for directions.
However, the pair claim this quickly caught the attention of two men dressed in black helmets and black bodysuits, who pulled up next to them and snatched the phone from Ms Karam’s hand – causing Mr Yeretzian to lose control and crash.

Mr. Yeretzian is now in a hospital bed in Bali, facing a $69,000 medical bill because he had not purchased his trip with a credit card that normally provides him with travel insurance.
A fundraising campaign has since been set up to bring the tourist back to Australia.
Along with several broken ribs and a broken shoulder, Mr. Yeretzian has accumulated blood and fluid in his lungs and suffered a minor skull fracture.
He and his girlfriend were driving at about 50 km/h when they were reportedly attacked, Mr Yeretzian’s cousin, Anthony Matta, wrote on the website. GoFundMe.
“Cosette immediately got up to see her loving boyfriend lying on the floor, rolling his eyes back and making unusual noises,” Mr Matta said.

“In addition to multiple parts of her body that are scraped, scratched and bruised, there is also the traumatic image of her injured partner that Cosette will forever have etched in her brain.
“We’re thankful they’re breathing normally, it’s a miracle they’re still alive after this horrific attack.”
Ms Karam said in a Facebook post that police were unable to help and as her partner was unable to fly home, he had to undergo surgery in Bali.
“We really need all the help we can get right now,” she said.
The fundraiser has received more than $50,000 in donations to date.
