Carrie Bradshaw may be learning whether adopting a pet can really heal a broken heart.

After her husband’s death, Mr. Big, Sarah Jessica Parker’s beloved character from Sex And The City, who is hailed as a relationship guru, was spotted cradling an adorable tabby cat in her arms amid her newfound romance with ex-fiancé Aidan Shaw (John Corbet) .

While filming the second season of And Just Like That, which premieres this summer, the 57-year-old actress smiled as she held a kitten on the balcony of her brownstone apartment on the Upper East Side.

As she snuggled up to her furry friend, the six-time Golden Globe winner looked incredibly chic in a pink and silver sequin jacket over a beige tea-length dress.

Her golden blonde locks were styled in loose waves and she rocked a glamorous makeup look, which consisted of blush, several layers of mascara and brown eye shadow.

Over the years, Parker’s character never showed much affinity for animals, infamously losing her then-boyfriend Aidan’s dog, Pete, who infamously used one of her Manolo Blahnik heels as a chew toy.

Later, the fashionista slipped into a chic pink floral dress, which she styled with a structured black blazer and crochet beret.

Last month, she and Corbett confirmed their character’s relationship after being seen having a passionate kiss as the cameras rolled.

The Just Like That’s Instagram account shared a photo of them cuddling in the street with the caption, “And that’s how Carrie is back on her toes.”

Their reunion comes 13 years after he last played the role of the loveable furniture designer in the much-maligned 2010 movie, Sex And The City 2.

His character didn’t wear a wedding ring, and their steamy lovemaking seems to confirm that he’s longer with his on-screen former wife, Kathy.

The last viewers saw of Aidan was back in Sex And The City 2, when he and Carrie unexpectedly crossed paths in Abu Dhabi.

The pair agreed to meet for dinner — despite Charlotte’s warnings that Carrie was “playing with fire” — and shared a clandestine kiss after flirting over appetizers.

Fans were shocked when the formerly loyal Aidan cheated on his furniture-designing husband – with whom he had sons Tate, Homer and Wyatt.

Wracked with guilt, Carrie left Aidan at his hotel and quickly told husband Big, who ghosted her, before presenting her with a black diamond engagement ring.

She later told Charlotte that the kiss made her realize how she used to be, “desperate, needy, and chasing after a man who didn’t want me”—referring to Big’s toxic and gaslighting behavior toward her in the six seasons and the first movie, where he chased her away.

John portrayed Carrie’s ex-boyfriend and later her fiancé in season three and season four of the hit HBO series.

The pair first met at his furniture store before embarking on a romance that “freaked out” Carrie because of how smoothly their relationship was going.

A lovesick Aidan later proposed to an insecure Carrie, who accepted but would wear only her engagement ring on a chain around her neck.

Their romance ended once and for all in season four where she admitted that she was not ready to marry Aidan.

He was seen one last time in season six, when Carrie ran into him and his infant son, with Aidan revealing that he had married a fellow furniture designer.

And Just Like That… has followed Carrie’s journey as she moves on with her life after the death of her true love Big – leaving the path open for her to rekindle the romance with Aidan.

She was last known to be in a relationship with her podcast producer Franklin.

In 2021, when season one of the Sex And The City sequel was in the works, the actor had teased that he would be in the reboot. However, to the fans’ dismay, he never appeared in any of the episodes.
