It’s time for your daily dose of Quordle hints – now with added Daily Sequence answers!
Yes, that’s right: the makers of Quordle have a new game in which you have to complete four Wordle puzzles in a row. The twist is that the letters you already used in the first game are repeated in the second, and so on.
It’s fun, but also difficult – so if you’re already looking for Wordle hints, you’ll probably need some for Quordle and the Daily Sequence as well.
I’m a fan of Quordle and Wordle and have been playing since December 2021, so I can definitely help you solve Quordle today and improve your game for tomorrow. Read on for my Quordle hints for game #487 and the answers to the daily order.

Quordle FAQs: Everything you need to know
What is Quordle?
Where Wordle challenges you to guess a new five-letter word every day, Quordle presents you with four puzzles to solve. And instead of completing them in turn, you do so at the same time. You get nine guesses, instead of Wordle’s six, but otherwise the rules are very similar.
It is played online through the Quordle website and you can also get there via the Merriam-Webster siteafter the dictionary bought Quordle last year.
As with Wordle, the answers are the same every day for every player, which means you’ll be competing against the rest of the world. And just like Wordle, the puzzle resets at midnight so you have a new challenge every day.
The website also includes a practice mode – which I definitely recommend using before trying the real game! – and there are daily stats including a streak count. You also get Quordle achievements – specific badges for winning a game in a certain number of turns, playing often or guessing particularly difficult words.
Oh, and it’s hard. Really difficult.
What are the Quordle Rules?
Quordle’s rules are almost identical to Wordle’s.
1. Letters that are in the answer and are in the right place turn green.
2. Letters that are in the answer but are in the wrong place turn yellow.
3. Letters that are not in the answer will be greyed out…
4. … BUT the word you guess appears in all quadrants of the puzzle at the same time, so an A can turn green in one square, yellow in another, and gray in the last two.
5. Answers are never plural.
6. Letters can appear multiple times. So if your guess contains two of one letter, they could both turn yellow, both turn green, or one could be yellow and the other green.
7. Each guess must be a valid word in Quordle’s dictionary. For example, you cannot guess ABCDE.
8. You do not need to include correct letters in subsequent guesses and there is no equivalent to Wordle’s Hard mode.
9. You have nine guesses to find the Quordle answers.
10. You must complete the daily Quordle before midnight in your time zone.
What is a good Quordle strategy?
Quordle should be approached in a different way than Wordle. With four puzzles to solve in nine guesses, you can’t blindly throw letters at them and expect to win – you stand a much better chance if you think strategically.
That is of course also the case in Wordle, but it is even more important in Quordle.
There are two important things to remember.
1. Use multiple initial words
First, you don’t just want a single starting word, but almost certainly two or three beginning words.
The first of these should probably be one of the best Wordle starters because the same things that make them work well apply here too. But after that, you need to choose another word or possibly two that use many more of the most common consonants and contain the remaining vowels.
For example, I currently use STARE > DOILY > PUNCH. Together, these three words use 15 of the 26 letters in the alphabet, including all five vowels, Y, and nine of the most common consonants (S, T, R, D, L, P, N, C, and H). There are plenty of other options – you might want to put an M, B, F or G in it instead of the H, but something like this should suffice.
If all goes well, that will give you a good idea of what one or sometimes two of the answers could be. If not, good luck!
2. Keep things to a minimum
Second, if you come across a word where the answer could easily be one of many options – for example -ATCH, where it could be MATCH, BATCH, LATCH, CATCH, WATCH, HATCH, or PATCH – you’ll definitely want to guess a word that would limit those options.
In Wordle, instead, you can try several in a row and hope one is right, assuming you still have enough guesses. It’s risky, but will work sometimes. In addition, it is the only option in hard mode. But in Quordle this will almost certainly result in failure – you just don’t have enough guesses.
In the above scenario, CLAMP would be a good bet, as it could point the way to four of the seven words at once.
