Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been labeled ‘Hollywood nobodies’ by a royal author after they apparently failed to attend Oscar parties.
The couple, who live in Montecito, California, was nowhere to be seen Sir Elton John‘s AIDS Foundation’s 31st Annual Academy Awards Viewing Party, where Hollywood A-listers danced the night away.
Tom Bower, author and royal pundit, said on GB News yesterday that the absence of the Duke and Duchess from the select event showed that their influence in Hollywood is waning.
On TV yesterday, Bower said, “They’re really nobody in Hollywood!”
Sir Elton has been a constant support in Harry’s life, performing at his 2018 wedding to Meghan in Windsor.

Last year, the couple shared a personal message with Sir Elton John ahead of his farewell concert at Dodgers Stadium.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were featured in a compilation video of stars paying tribute to Sir Elton ahead of the performance, which was broadcast live on Disney+.
In the clip, which appears to have been shot in the couple’s offices in Archewell, Prince Harry said: “Thank you for being the friend you were to my mother. Thank you for being our friend, thank you for being a friend to our children.”
The couple both said “Hi Elton” before Meghan said, “We just wanted to congratulate you!
“We’re just so proud of you and so thankful we got to see you on your farewell tour as well.”
Harry said, “Thank you for entertaining everyone for so many decades. Thank you for being the friend you were to my mother.
Thank you for being our friend, thank you for being a friend to our children, and thank you for entertaining people all over the world.
“Even though this is officially your retirement, this won’t be your last performance and we know it. We love you and congratulate you on your incredible career.”

The pair were thought to be absent from the party this weekend, with royal author Tom Bower speculating they have limited clout in Hollywood (pictured in December)
The clip ended with Meghan resting her head on Harry’s chest and blowing a kiss to the camera.
Famed musician Sir Elton was close friends with Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, and maintained a close relationship with the Duke after her death in 1997.
Sir Elton and his husband David Furnish were also among the many celebrity guests invited to Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018.
The Sussexes visited the palatial £15 million home of Castel Mont-Alban, owned by Sir Elton John and David, overlooking the Promenade des Anglais during their French Riviera holiday in August 2019.
The trip to Nice came shortly after Harry and Meghan returned to the UK by private jet from Ibiza after a six-night break on the Spanish island to mark the Duchess’s 38th birthday.

Elton later released a statement defending the couple, saying he paid for the private jet.
Described as a ‘rock’ for the royal rebels, Sir Elton defended the couple after the backlash over their use of four private jets in 11 days in 2019, calling Princess Diana one of his ‘dearest friends’ whose family he ‘felt deeply ‘. of duty to protect.’
Elton speaks to Harry and Meghan every day. He is an inspiration, an almost ‘maternal’ figure,” a royal insider told The Mirror in 2020.
“He’s been a constant support, especially to Meghan, and he’s very protective of both of them,” they added.
While a source close to Sir Elton added: ‘He has been their rock. So even though he would never tell them what to do, he was always a listening ear and support.”
Filmmaker David, husband of musician Sir Elton, was set to serve as executive producer of Meghan’s first animated series Pearl.
While few details about the series were released, many believed the show was based – at least in part – on Meghan’s own childhood, citing how she called the show and the title character Pearl, the original meaning of her name.
David praised Meghan for her leadership skills while creating the program.
“She’s a great collaborator, great leader,” said filmmaker David Furnish, 58, at the HELLO! Inspiration Awards.
“And we’re just really, really excited to be working with, you know, someone as influential and supportive as Netflix.” However, the project was cancelled.
