New York Jets ‘not going to no Super Bowl’ with Aaron Rodgers, Packers legend LeRoy Butler insists

New York Jets ‘won’t go to no Super Bowl’ if they sign Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay legend LeRoy Butler insists – as he predicts they’ll only win eight games with the star quarterback!

Aaron Rodgers inevitably seems to end up with the New York Jets sooner rather than later, though according to Packers legend LeRoy Butler that may not be a positive for the franchise.

As parts of New York and New Jersey cheer on Rodgers’ imminent arrival, Butler attempted to pour cold water on a deep postseason run for Gang Green.

“You’re not going to no Super Bowl,” Butler said through Jets fans TMZ. Hall of Fame safety went even further by claiming that the Jets will once again finish under .500.

New York finished the last NFL season bottom of the AFC East with a 7-9 record – after losing six consecutive games to close it out.

As evidenced by a 7-3 start, there’s a lot of promise at Florham Park, not that Butler necessarily agrees.

The Jets won’t win the Super Bowl if they sign Aaron Rodgers (L), according to LeRoy Butler (R)

Rodgers announced his intent to play for the Jets on Tuesday during an extended interview on the Pat McAfee Show, with a trade package the only aspect currently standing between Rodgers and the under-successful New York franchise.

“I was on a team that went to two Super Bowls — your team has to be close,” Butler said.

“I don’t know if Aaron Rodgers will be there all off season to yellow with the top Rookie of the Year wide receiver [Garrett Wilson].

“I don’t know if he’ll be there to go to the clubs with Breece Hall. Don’t know.

“If he’s willing to do that job, you never know. But come on, Jets… the toughest [conference] is the AFC; Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen – these guys aren’t going anywhere. They don’t just lie down.

“They’re probably going to win seven, eight games. Eight games.’ Although he has a better prediction for Jordan Love and his former team.

“Now, the Packers we’re going nine or ten because we’re all on board.” Thanks Jets, shout out to Robert Saleh. Woody [Johnson] Thank you!’

During his 12-year NFL career – all with the Packers – Butler was a 4x First-team All-Pro, he is a member of the NFL 1990 All-Decade team, as well as the Green Bay and Pro Football Hall of Fame.
