MultiVersus Season 2 has started and it brings a new map, a brand new battle pass, improved network latency and a tease about characters who will join the roster.
Developer Player First Games has detailed what to expect in Season 2 of MultiVersus, and it appears to be quite powerful. After Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith’s recording of Rick and Morty by the end of Season 1, it looks like classic comic book character Marvin the Martian will be next to join the roster.
“New additions to the roster are incredibly exciting, so we thought we’d give you a little tease of one of the new characters who will be joining the MVS roster in Season 2,” a blog post Read about the new season. Hailing from planet Mars and sent to destroy Earth with his Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator, Marvin the Martian will soon make his way back to MultiVersus, in yet another fruitless attempt to claim victory. Marvin and his equipment soon, so hang in there.”
Season 2 of MultiVersus also brings a new map. Based on HBOs Game of Thrones series, fans of the show will instantly recognize King’s Landing’s iconic throne room, complete with “all the dangers and pitfalls you’ve come to expect from the land of Westeros.” This folder contains a new remix of the Game of Thrones theme song, “composed with multiple sections that can transition dynamically depending on the chaos going on in the match.”
Player First Games says network and latency improvements to the game are live with Season 2.
“We recently implemented multi-path network traffic acceleration to improve stability and latency, which will lead to a much better online experience for players around the world,” the blog reads.
The new season 2 battle pass includes new badges, icons/profile icons, banners and taunts to unlock. It also includes new character variants on the free and premium battle pass track, including Baker Street Tom and Astronaut Velma. New sounds include the Toxic Explosion and the Lava Breath.
