A Florida state representative appeared hilariously duped during a committee hearing when pranksters put vulgar fake names in his roll call.
Republican official Will Robinson fell victim to the stunt on Monday during a hearing before the Florida House Civil Justice Committee, which was discussing a bill introduced by fellow GOP state Rep. Tiffany Esposito on residential leases.
Robinson, chair of the committee, moved the hearing to public testimony and began reading out the names of those who spoke out against or in support of Esposito’s bill.
After several minutes of regular service, Robinson accidentally said, “Anita D***,” before quickly looking around the room in stunned silence.
The mortified GOP official then went on to the next name, while a female colleague covered her mouth to hide her laughter. “Hoden Hisc***,” he continued, quickly recognizing the antics that had slipped into the proceedings.

Although the next name on the list was fortunately not an innuendo, it still surprised the politician.
‘Jimmy? Only Jimmy?’ he said, wondering if he’d been caught in the hoax a third time.
The Republican seemed relieved to see the man in question get to his feet, after Robinson continued that the person “wants to speak and is in favor.”
Footage of the antics quickly spread through social media, with many expressing sympathy for the unwitting rep.
“This guy didn’t deserve this trolling masterclass, but sometimes we just need to sit back and have a good laugh,” said journalist Brendon Leslie.
Another said, “It’s going to take a while to get over this.”
Despite appearing humiliated after accidentally reading the fake names, Robinson saw the funny side when he took to Twitter to laugh at the hijinks.
Committee meets again next week! Anita and Holden, please come over!’ he said.
Robinson has represented Florida House District 71 since 2018 and won re-election in both 2020 and 2022.
The former real estate lawyer has served on numerous subcommittees during his term of office.
