Marjorie Taylor Greene hits back at Biden for laughing at her mother’s fentanyl story

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene hit back at President Joe Biden for “making fun of her” after she highlighted the Congressional testimony of a mother who lost two of her sons to a fentanyl overdose.

Greene told DailyMail.com during a chat with the press at CPAC Friday that she often ignores Biden’s comments. “But what I think is important is that he laughs at her,” Greene said.

“She’s a mother and it doesn’t matter when her children died,” the Republican from Georgia also said.

In a tweet, Greene had blamed the Biden administration for the deaths of congressional witness Rebecca Kiessling’s two sons — who had died during former President Donald Trump’s term in office.

“I read she was very specific the other day saying that a mother — a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that — that I killed her sons,” Biden said of Greene during his appearance Wednesday night at the House Democratic Caucus Issues . Conference. “Well, the interesting thing is that the fentanyl they took came on the last administration,” Biden said with a chuckle.

On Thursday, the White House defended Biden’s laugh, while press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said he was “expressing condolences” to Kiessling — who was a witness at Tuesday’s House Homeland Security Committee and spoke emotionally about the loss of her sons Caleb and Kyler.

She has since apologized to the president.

Greene argued that the Kiessling sons, although they had a history of drug use, did not expect to be poisoned with fentanyl when they took what they thought was Percocet. This prescription pain reliever contains the opioid oxycodone.

“They were poisoned by fentanyl coming across the border through the cartels,” the Georgia congressman continued. That number has exploded. It has now doubled under the presidency of Joe Biden.”

“And instead of Joe Biden making fun of me and making fun of her, Joe Biden should reduce that number,” Greene added.

Greene also told the press that she had supported Trump as far back as 2024, mocking a former UN ambassador. Nikki Haley’s presidential bid and suggestion that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should stay in Florida.

“I’ve never listened to Nikki Haley and I don’t think she’s going to do very well in the primary,” she said of the former South Carolina governor, who was scheduled to take the stage at CPAC later Friday afternoon.

When asked about her thoughts on a DeSantis run, MTG praised the work he had done in the Sunshine State.

“I think he’s a fantastic governor for the state of Florida and if I were Florida, things are done at a snail’s pace here in Washington, if I were Florida I’d give him a third term and beg him to run as governor to stay,” Green said.

Greene was also asked if she would consider becoming Trump’s running mate as ex-President and former Vice President Mike Pence argued over Pence’s refusal to overturn the election when he presided over Congress on Jan. 6 .

‘We not be fully engaged, that’s up to President Trump, who he chooses,” she said.

She played coy when DailyMail.com asked if she and Trump discussed joining his 2024 ticket.

“What I’ve been talking about is legislating for this Congress and being focused on serving Georgia’s 14th district,” she said.

She wouldn’t name her ideal vice presidential nominee for Trump either.

“I’m not sure those are talks that will happen in time,” she said with a smile, leaving behind the throng of reporters scrambling to talk to her.
