Marcus Rashford has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Month for February after the Manchester United striker scored five goals in just four games.

The England striker won the award for the second consecutive month from the six-man shortlist and also won in September.

The 25-year-old was part of Erik ten Hag’s side that beat Newcastle United 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.

Rashford also inspired the Red Devils’ comeback in their Europa League play-off at the Nou Camp, before United knocked Barcelona out at Old Trafford to reach the last 16.

“Obviously it’s always good to be in between talks,” Rashford said the club website.

“I feel you can give this player of the month to anyone, especially in the last three months,” Rashford said on the club’s website.

“To get this player of the month, I feel like you could give it to anyone, especially in the last three months.

“All the people who voted deserve to win it, of course it makes me feel very proud that I managed to do it three times.

“All the players who have been ready, even some players who have not been ready, deserve it.

“It shows that we are improving as a team and hopefully we can continue to do so.”

Asked about his most notable moment of the month, Rashford said: ‘Probably the Nou Camp.

“The last time I played out of that, I felt there were opportunities in the game, but I just didn’t take advantage of them.

“We didn’t create enough of the chances I thought were there in the game.

“In the end they beat us 3-0 that night and it was on my mind this time to go back and make sure we create chances, and we try to convert them.”
