High-profile makeup artist Ashlee Day has spoken about her nightmare encounter with an Aussie celebrity she described as the “rudest” in the business.
Ashlee claimed that the star, who she did not name, refused to talk to her while she was doing her makeup and then “screamed” at her for doing it wrong.
The beauty influencer was 19 at the time and just starting out in the makeup industry, so was understandably shocked by the incident.
While she didn’t identify the celebrity, Ashlee said she worked for free that day and had to reapply the star’s makeup after turning down her first look.
Ashlee, who has 750,000 followers on TikTok, revealed that she almost left the job in tears and cried all the way home.

“It shocked me because I’m 19 and this girl was a huge celebrity at the time… she gets out of the chair and says, ‘Oh honey, that’s not what I wanted at all,'” Ashlee said.
After removing the star’s makeup and starting over, Ashlee said the woman refused to talk to her and gave her no direction on the makeup look she was going for.
Ashlee kept asking, “Babe, do you like the way your makeup looks?” but the mysterious celebrity refused to answer.

“I didn’t say ‘darling’, I said her name. She still didn’t respond to me. I stood there like, “WTF, I’m just going to fuck myself,” she continued.
Her manager comes over and said it was “perfect, honey” and I had 15 minutes to finish it.
“I got in my car and literally cried. That was so painful. I didn’t get paid. I never put anything on my Instagram. I was promised respect and an Instagram story and got nothing.
“I finished the makeup and she says to me, ‘I really don’t like my makeup.’ I said, “Well, you didn’t tell me what you wanted.” I’m kidding, I didn’t say that, I literally nodded [because I] was 19 and nervous.’
Ashlee said she was then told to leave by the celebrity’s manager.
“She said she didn’t like the blush…but that’s my style,” she added.
‘They must have liked my work [to book me]. She went back to the dressing room and fixed everything herself, and the manager told me to leave.’

However, one user pointed out that Abbie and Ashlee follow each other on Instagram.
‘Must be Abbie Chatfield. She was on The Bachelor in 2019 when Ash was 19. She never wears winged eyeliner. The way Ash described how the person was talking is exactly how Abbie talks, especially with all the ‘babe’ talk,” one fan commented.
