The lovelorn couple went official with their relationship last week and proudly declared in a social media update that they were boyfriend and girlfriend.
Meanwhile, there was a big update for Love Island fans on Sunday as the fate of the show’s winter series was revealed.
Although ratings hit their lowest point in seven years this year, ITV bigwigs are said to be so excited about Maya Jama, 28, at the helm that they’ve decided to bring the show back for another South African run.
A source told The sun: ‘Maya has more than proven her worth as a host of Love Island and although the ratings for this winter series were not the best, she came out on top.
Love Island has already informed the owners of the £1.2 million villa in South Africa that they intend to return there at the end of this year, ahead of the 2024 winter show.
With Maya at the helm of the summer series, ITV believe she will only increase its popularity, which they believe will carry over into the next winter edition.
“Maya were crowned the winner of Love Island when her debut episode aired and ITV reckon she’ll just continue to make TV gold for them.”
MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment.
Only 1.1 million people tuned in to see Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan crowned the winners of Love Island in this series.
This was the lowest for a show finale since series two of the show, and a massive drop from the previous year’s 3 million.
