Kate Bosworth defended her abandoned ocean outpost in the new trailer for upcoming sci-fi thriller Last Sentinel.
The 40-year-old actress stars in the upcoming film alongside Lucien Laviscount, Thomas Kretschmann and Martin McCann.
“Two continents are still at war. There’s only one outpost left,” read an ominous message in the trailer.
The small crew working with Kate’s character were protecting a radioactive device when their overdue auxiliary ship was spotted on the water nearby.

The ship did not respond to a radio call and was later found to be empty.
An empty boat turns up which must be our relief. How did that happen?,’ Lucien’s character asked.
An approaching storm front complicated matters, as the soldiers also began to grow suspicious of each other.
“He lost it,” said Kate’s character as the soldiers were fighting among themselves.
The official synopsis read: ‘Alone and unsure of what fate awaits them, the simmering tension among the crew escalates when a mysterious boat floats within range. Is it the help they’ve been waiting for, or something far more sinister’.
The thriller is set in the “near future” when only two of the planet’s continents remain above sea level following “uncontrolled and rampant climate change,” according to the synopsis.
Last Sentinel is written by Malachi Smyth and directed by Tanel Toom.
The film will premiere in theaters and on video-on-demand on March 24.

Kate shot to fame playing a young surfer in the 2002 movie Blue Crush.
She has been in a relationship with actor Justin Long, 44, since January 2022.
Kate and husband Michael Polish, 52, split in August 2021 after getting married in August 2013.
She can also be seen in the thriller film The Locksmith released last month by Screen Media.
