Jennifer Lawrence stepped out with her mom Karen for a casual Mother’s Day afternoon in New York City this weekend.

The Oscar winner, 32 – who recently dialed in the summer by donning a leggy floral dress – wore white for the outing while her mum rocked a long-sleeved black mini dress.

The pair spent some quality time together getting their nails done before hooking up with Jennifer’s dad Gary.

Lawrence has alluded to a complicated relationship with her mother in the past, calling Karen “an amazing person” while admitting that she was still working on some “stuff” from her childhood.

Speak against Fashion last year, the Silver Linings Playbook star said, “My mom is a wonderful person, bbut that doesn’t mean there aren’t things from my childhood that I’m working out.’

The A-lister went on to connect her career as an actress with the complicated relationship she has with her mother.

“Art is more often than not about your mother,” Jennifer said. “I’m hesitant to say that because I’d hate for someone to go back and look at my movies, or this movie in particular, and think that’s the way I paint my mom.”

Jennifer grew up in Indian Hills, Kentucky, where her father owned a construction company and her mother ran a summer camp.

As the little sister of two older brothers, Jennifer was reportedly raised as “tough” by her mother, who has a complicated track record when it comes to supporting her daughter’s teenage dreams of acting.

Karen would have preferred the path of modeling for her daughter, but Jennifer insisted on auditioning and making it in Hollywood.

The new mom — who shares a one-year-old baby boy named Cy with husband Cooke Maroney — eventually came around and spoke to Vogue about how her craft could be impacted by motherhood.

She said, “A lot of my movies in the past were about my mother, my childhood. I wonder what will happen now that I will witness someone else’s childhood.

“And I wonder what he’s going to talk to his therapist about. She wouldn’t put me down. She kisses me on the mouth. She asked me not to go to university.’

But the Hunger Games star isn’t letting her fears get in the way of enjoying life as a mother and wife while enjoying her family.

Gushing about her husband and young son, Jennifer said, “My heart has stretched to a capacity I didn’t know. I involve my husband in that.

“And then they’re both just, like they’re walking around there, crossing streets. He’s going to ride one day. He becomes a dim-witted teenager and sits behind the wheel of a car. And I’m just gonna say, good night! You know? Like, who’s sleeping?”
