American pop star Jason Derulo has been announced as Keith Urban’s replacement on The Voice Australia
Fans of The Voice Australia can expect fireworks from new coach Jason Derulo when the singing competition airs later this year.
The 33-year-old American pop sensation says he is looking for the next global superstar.
And Jason has already sent a strong message to co-stars Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian and Jessica Mauboy.
“I’m super, super duper competitive, almost unhealthy competitive,” the headstrong Talk Dirty singer said in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph.
Jason has come to the Channel Seven hit as a replacement for fan favorite Keith Urban, who left the show as a coach at the end of last season.

“I’ll bring a global perspective,” Derulo said, explaining his game plan.
“These are obviously musicians from Australia, but with the way the music industry has changed, there are no rules anymore.”
He said contestants should not be pigeonholed as future local stars.
“I think more than ever the lines are blurred, so there is a chance for a world star to come out of this.”
Jason, who grew up in Florida, became a star in 2009 with his first single Whatcha Say, a number 1 hit in the US.
Since then he has sold more than 250 million singles worldwide, including the hits Wiggle, Trumpets and It Girl.

Urban appeared as a judge on the first season of The Voice Australia, before leaving and returning for seasons 10 and 11

Keith said last October that he was trying to balance his schedule with his wife Nicole Kidman, 55, (right), so they could take their kids to visit their grandparents and extended family for the Christmas break
He has also written songs for Diddy and rapper Lil Wayne, and currently has 57 million TikTok followers.
Meanwhile, Urban said he left The Voice because he wanted to spend time with his family and tour Australia.
The country music star, 54, left the singing show to kick off the Down Under leg of The Speed Of Now World Tour, based on the title album he released in 2020.
He told The Daily Telegraph last October, he tried to balance his schedule with wife Nicole Kidman so they could take their kids to visit their grandparents and extended family over the holiday season last Christmas.
