Cutting costs (also)! Influencer reveals how she saves a fortune on food by eating FREE SAMPLES from wholesale giant for dinner – from sushi and soup dumplings to rotisserie chicken
An influencer left the internet stunned after revealing that she has whole meals simply by trying the many free samples given out at Costco. Tasmin Dhaliwal, of Toronto, Canada, has gone viral for admitting that she often eats the free, small savory snacks offered at the wholesale chain – which is offered to customers in an attempt to get them to buy its products – for the evening meal.
According to the Toronto resident, the company offers so many testers that she usually leaves completely full. She often documents trying out the many handouts and shares them on her TikTok where her videos have gained millions of views and impressed many people across the internet. “Eating Costco monsters for diners,” she wrote at the beginning of a clip.
During the minute-long video, she tried things like pita bread with hummus, toast with blackberry jam, a few cubes of different cheeses, goat cheese crackers, chips and dip, a chocolate chip cookie, and even a small cup. of coffee.
At other TikToks, she ate free samples of more things like oatmeal squares, a walnut salad, salami, soup dumplings, sushi, chili, smoothies, and even rotisserie chicken. While chatting with the New York Post about the viral TikToks, Tasmin explained that the idea came to her by accident.
She said it started after she “came across” one of Costco’s “example kiosks” — and after coming across “five or six more” moments later, she decided to videotape it.
‘[Afterwards]”I was too full to go to the food court,” she added. Many viewers have praised Tasmin’s smart thinking in the comment section of her videos. Others shared their frustration with their own local Costcos not offering as many free samples.
“Costco samples just hit differently,” one user commented.
Others were sad that their Costcos offered more limited options. “The Costco I go to only had three sample booths,” one person wrote, while another agreed, “mine only has three at a time.”
“Which Costco are you going to? I can barely find two samples at my local Costco,” someone else said.
“You have six samples and I’ve never seen samples at Costco,” read a fourth comment.
