Harley Street plastic surgeon dubbed the ‘boob god’ sues art dealer for defamation and harassment

An art dealer could face jail time after being accused of a harassment campaign against a famous plastic surgeon hailed as the “god of boobs.”

Dr. Riccardo Frati is a leading Harley Street surgeon who has operated on celebrities including Towie’s Gemma Collins and Big Brother’s Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace.

Online, patients have referred to him as the “breast god” for his work, including giving model Horgan-Wallace the “largest” breast implants allowed in the UK.

But Dr. Frati now claims he has been the target of a campaign of smear and harassment by disgruntled former patient and modern art dealer Karen Bowen-Carter.

Dr Frati says Ms Bowen-Carter, 54, has deliberately spread lies online, alleging she has “fraudulently” given cut-price treatments to celebrities to garner positive reviews.

He is suing her for defamation, malicious misrepresentation and harassment in High Court and vowed last year not to contact him, his staff or his patients.

But now she could face jail for contempt of court after Dr. Frati requested that she be sent to prison for continuing to contact her patients, in breach of her promise.

Ms Bowen-Carter denies being in contempt of court and says the legal promises she made might not even be binding because she was suffering from crippling anxiety at the time she signed.

Dr Frati is one of the UK’s leading cosmetic surgeons and has operated on a host of celebrities and models, including several from the cast of TOWIE.

In 2019, former Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace claimed the surgeon had placed the largest implants allowed in the UK, and in 2020 she appeared on Gemma Collins’ reality show ‘Diva Forever and Ever’ discussing plans for a reduction of her two stone tits.

At a pretrial hearing in High Court, Dr. Frati’s attorney, David Sherborne, told Judge Collins Rice that he vehemently denies any accusation of performing cheap surgeries for good reviews.

Before posting the allegedly defamatory review in May last year, Ms Bowen-Carter, whom he operated on in November 2020, contacted him demanding a refund and “compensation”, he claimed.

He said that if he did not receive the payments, he would contact the daytime TV shows to “expose” him, the lawyer continued.

Soon after, he posted on Google words that the doctor said would be interpreted as an accusation that he “fraudulently offered half-price surgeries to celebrities in exchange for false reviews on social media.”

“It is untrue that he has offered such services at discounted prices to celebrities for any type of review,” Sherborne said.

The defendant knew very well that this was not true.

His goal in posting to Google was to “cause as much damage as possible” to his business and “effectively blackmail you into paying substantial sums of money,” he added.

As part of his case, the doctor last year sought an injunction against Ms Bowen-Carter, which she resolved by accepting legal “undertakings” not to contact him, his staff or his patients.

However, over the next year, she “repeatedly contacted and harassed the plaintiff’s patients,” Sherborne said.

“This was expected to stop, but this has not happened and that has led to the application,” he added.

Lawyer William McBarnet said Ms Bowen-Carter would question whether she has breached commitments at all.

And she said there were questions about whether they were legally binding in the first place, as there is evidence that at the time she agreed, she was suffering from anxiety and other mental health issues.

The judge gave brief instructions for the contempt case to proceed in the new year.

If found in contempt, Ms Bowen-Carter, of West Malling, Kent, could face up to two years in prison.

A hearing on Dr. Frati’s defamation claim is scheduled for later this month.
