- England made a brilliant start and Agbonglahor thinks they have more quality
Former England striker Gabby Agbonlahor estimates that only three of Argentina’s players would make it to England’s best eleven.
Argentina were one of the favorites heading into the World Cup, but got off to a disastrous start, losing 2-1 to Saudi Arabia.
England, meanwhile, kicked off perfectly with a 6-2 thrashing of Iran.

Gabby Agbonglahor says only three Argentine players could make it into England’s XI
Gareth Southgate’s squad is brimming with quality and after watching both teams, Agbonglahor thinks a combined squad will be made up of mostly English players.
“Some of my friends were like ‘they (Argentina) are going to win this world,'” he told talkSPORT.
They were second favorite after Brazil. I watch them play and I’m like Romero looked poor, Otamendi looked poor.
“I look at their team and I’m like Lisandro Martinez in the centre, Martinez in goal and Messi might be in the England squad.
Apart from them, the midfield looked bad, Di Maria didn’t look great. Alavrez come on and didn’t look great. Everyone says Argentina, but I don’t think they have a chance to win this World Cup.
