Fred Sirieix learned that Gino D’Acampo quit ITV’s Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip a few DAYS earlier
Gino D’Acampo shocked fans on Sunday when he revealed he had quit popular ITV show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip after three series.
The Italian chef, 46, insisted in a statement that his departure had nothing to do with co-hosts Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, claiming “complicated” contracts were to blame.
Still, MailOnline can reveal that the decision came as a shock to at least one of his co-stars and show bosses, as Fred, 51, had talked about working together just days before Gino, 46, claimed he made the decision. fuses.
Gino’s departure comes just two weeks after Fred told MailOnline that the show’s three big stars “came over there” in regards to contract settlement.
However, insiders wouldn’t rule out Gino having a change of heart and making a U-turn, with a source saying, “Everyone involved with the show was shocked by Gino’s post.

“As for the bosses, talks were underway and a settlement was within reach.
Contract negotiations are always difficult because of the trio’s schedules, so the movie window where they can actually get the three of them together is pretty tight.
“But Gino has obviously lost his temper and backed off.”
The source added, “Bosses are hoping to convince Gino to stay with Gordon and Fred because they are really having fun together and making great television.”
Both Fred and Gordon have yet to respond to Gino’s post, or share their own posts about the show’s restructuring, despite it being on Instagram for hours.
During promotional interviews for his new Channel 4 series, Fred’s Last Resort, Gino’s co-star Fred Sirieix told MailOnline on March 7 that the trio were busy organizing the show’s next series.
However, he hinted that there were problems behind the scenes, with Fred noting that there was a problem pinning everyone down.
He said, “Yeah, we’re currently talking about dates to go on the next road trip together.” It’s a little hard to juggle all our schedules, but we’ll get there.”

Confused: Gino’s co-star Fred Sirieix told MailOnline on March 7 that the trio were busy organizing the show’s next series and repeated the claims three days later on ITV’s Lorraine
He continued that he was not bothered by a hectic schedule, explaining: “I’m busy… that’s the nice thing about my career: no two days are the same and that’s why I like that it’s very diverse.”
“I meet a lot of people in different settings, whether it’s restaurants or TV, and I find it very exciting.
‘I don’t mind being busy, I actually enjoy being busy, because the busier you are, the busier you become and when I’m busier, I’m happy. If I’m not busy, I’m not happy.’
He echoed the sentiments 10 days ago during a chat with ITV’s Lorraine Kelly when he said on Friday 10: ‘We’re talking dates for the next one. It’s hard to juggle all our diaries.
“But we’ll get there—we’ll get there.”
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Fred and Gordon for comment.
An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline that a new series of Gordon, Gino & Fred’s Road Trip has been filmed in Spain and will air on ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
The interviews have resurfaced after Gino said in a lengthy Instagram video on Sunday that he was leaving because of an argument over “complicated” contacts.
The show saw the Italian TV favorite travel the world with fellow foodies Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix as they discovered the local cuisine.
Gino said his friendships with his former colleagues had nothing to do with his departure, as their “strong” bond meant more to him than squabbles over contracts.

Speaking out: The interviews have resurfaced after Gino said in a lengthy Instagram video on Sunday that he was leaving over a row over ‘complicated’ hookups
He told his followers: “Last week I decided not to film Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips anymore. The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.
“It’s just because we can’t get the dates together and sometimes when we do get the dates together they sometimes get changed and that causes a lot of problems for me because I have other things to do.”
“Personal problems too, because if I have to change things with my family, it’s very complicated and also because of contracts.”
Gino is married to Jessica Stellina Morrison with whom he shares sons Luciano, 21, and Rocco, 18, and nine-year-old daughter Mia.
Gino continues, ‘As contracts are starting to get very complicated and stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I’d rather have the friendship than fight with the contract’.
“So I’ve decided not to do it anymore, because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years to come.”
The popular show first aired in 2018 as the trio toured France and Italy before heading to America in 2020, followed two years later by a trip to Greece.
The series has also spawned three Christmas specials.
Gino started his TV career in 2004 and has become a household name, being crowned I’m A Celeb’s King of the Jungle in 2009.
As well as cooking, he has also worked as a presenter and is now fronting ITV’s Family Fortunes after the channel revived the show in 2020.
Gino previously admitted that he was almost “cancelled” by fans, but insisted he “doesn’t care” what people think.
He became known for his cheeky innuendo after rising to fame on This Morning and has since hosted a string of popular cooking shows.
But Gino claimed he was almost touched by cancellation culture because of his cheeky jokes, saying he “dangerously” walks the “thin line” with his humor.
He told The sun: ‘There’s a thin line on television and I think I’m walking that line, I’ve been walking that line for ten to fifteen years.’

Gino said he thinks he “gets away” with a lot more on TV than other people because viewers have known him for about 15 years.
However, he insisted he had never “crossed the line” with his jokes, saying he would have been “fired” if he had.
He said, “But I can get away with the accent and because I’m Gino and everyone has known me for a long time, I can get away with a lot of things that no one else can get away with.”
He advised other people to disapprove of cancellation culture, adding, “What they should do instead of fighting cancellation culture is the way I do it – ‘I don’t care what you have to say’ – that’s what I think.’
