Former NBA player Matt Barnes must pay ex-wife Gloria Govan almost $133,000 in back child support
Matt Barnes has been ordered by a Los Angeles court to pay ex-wife Gloria Govan more than $134,000 in back child support.
The former NBA player, 43, owes $133,976.54 to Govan, 38, TMZ reported Thursday after reviewing court documents.
It is not the first time the Santa Clara, California resident has faced court over the issue of child support, which was reduced from $20,000 a month to $7,500 at the end of 2018.
Barnes, who was involved in a spitting incident during an NFL playoff game earlier this year, is the father of 14-year-old twins Carter and Isaiah with Govan, who is best known for appearing on the show Basketball Wives.
Govan married Los Angeles Lakers stalwart Derek Fisher in July 2021 at Cielo Farms in Malibu, California, after announcing their engagement in April 2018.

Barnes, who played for teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors, tied the knot with Govan in 2012 and they separated two years later.
Barnes, who played in the league for 14 years, finalized his divorce from Govan in 2016 after less than two years of marriage.
In the fall of 2018, Barnes was awarded sole physical and legal custody of the children — and an 18-month restraining order against Govan — after an incident in which she was arrested in connection with child endangerment.
In the August 31, 2018 incident, Govan was accused of stopping Barnes from picking up the twins from school on his scheduled freedom day. Barnes claimed she used her car as a weapon and claimed he feared for his life and the lives of their sons Carter and Isaiah, TMZ reported at the time.
In court documents, Barnes alleged that Govan physically harmed their children and other children at school and claimed the twins were traumatized by their other’s actions and subsequent arrest.
No charges were eventually brought against Govan, who denied the allegations.
The restraining order at the time required Govan to stay at least 100 yards away from the children and see them for four hours once a week in the presence of a professional monitor. reported the exhaust September 2018.
Govan was instructed to remain peacefully near Barnes when exchanging the children.
She was also not allowed to take the children outside of Los Angeles County unless she received written permission from Barnes under the terms of the restraining order.
