“I’ve been doing it since the beginning of my career and I feel like it’s a really powerful gift to come in and make someone laugh,” he said.
“Who am I to say I shouldn’t be using that every day. I talked to my wife about it, it’s like, if you have the ability to do that, it should be used because you get it for a reason,” Ed added.
“It’s not just to help me, to have a good time on these shows. I just hope it makes people happy.’
In February, Ed also visited to surprise sick children at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick.

She told the Today Show on Channel 9 that she was “so nervous” but it was the best experience of her life.
“I was put on the spot, the cameraman told him I could sing and it was in front of everyone, so I just started singing,” she told the programme.
“It was the best thing I’ve had in my whole life, meeting Ed Sheeran was amazing.”
A hospital worker said Ed “wanted to really be there” as he chatted with patients before and after the stripped-back performance.
“He actually sat down, started chatting with the kids, finding out where they came from, their stories, which was really beautiful,” they said.
