Former President Trump enjoyed a quick nine holes of golf at his prestigious West Palm Beach club just hours before a New York grand jury voted to indict him.

A source told DailyMail.com that the embattled former president also reserved his regular table in the club’s grill area, but ended up not staying for lunch.

The 2024 candidate has been seen numerous times in recent weeks hitting the left as pressure mounts due to looming charges, now expected in the coming days.

The grand jury’s historic indictment vote will take place Thursday the former commander-in-chief arrested about a hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

The explosive indictment marks the end of a years-long investigation orchestrated by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, which investigated a $130,000 hush money payment made by Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer and fixer, to 44-year-old Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign .

In a statement after the indictment was announced, Trump lashed out at his impending arrest as “political persecution” and “election interference.”

Last week, as the New York grand jury delayed its final decision, Trump was again seen enjoying a round of golf at his Florida club.

It was the second day in a row he appeared on the course, where regulars say he routinely golfs every day between Wednesday and Sunday.

In his statement following the impeachment vote, Trump claimed he had been the target of a “witch hunt” since he “came off the golden escalator at Trump Tower” when he announced his 2016 presidential run.

The indictment comes after it emerged Thursday that New York prosecutors intended to sue Trump for a $150,000 payment to another former Playboy model.

The impending arrest will make him the first former president to be charged with a crime, sending the country into uncharted legal and political territory, with a presidential candidate now facing the prospect of going to trial.

Trump will be the first US president since Ulysses S Grant in 1876 to be arrested.

Trump was charged with hush money to porn star Stormy Daniels on Thursday

Trump has denied having an affair with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, for years.

In 2017, Cohen pleaded guilty to a host of federal charges after telling a Manhattan court that Trump had directed him to make the payments.

Despite his former attorney serving time behind bars after pleading guilty to eight federal charges, including tax evasion, fraud and campaign finance violations, the Trump investigation faded from the headlines while other lawsuits focused on his family business and his actions around de Jan. 6, 2021 riot.

But the investigation into his charges got under way in early 2023 after Cohen met with investigators from DA Bragg’s office and found that the grand jury was considering evidence against him.

It remains unclear what evidence was heard due to the grand jury hearings being held in secrecy.
