Delta Goodrem has been forced to postpone the UK and European dates of her Hearts on the Run tour as she needs to put her voice to rest.

The Born to Try star, 38, announced her “difficult” decision on Thursday, after “overusing” her vocal cords and finding herself “without a voice for a long time.”

Delta said she was devastated to see her UK and European fans let down, but promised to see them again soon if the concerts are rescheduled.

“It hurts my heart to move the shows, but please know that I love you all and your support means everything to me,” she said in a statement on Instagram.

She went on to explain that she’s been “overexerting herself” in recent months taking on “a number of projects,” but doctors have insisted she needs plenty of vocal rest.

While confident that her voice will fully recover, Delta will need to take quite a break before resuming live performances.

“I pushed through this month in the belief that my voice would heal, but as I sit here typing during rehearsals with a ready-made show, my doctors just ordered me to take strict vocal rest and not to sing” , she said.

The pop superstar concluded by reassuring fans that she will give them a show they won’t forget when she finally returns to the stage.
