Dead Island 2 Delayed To April

Dead Island 2 has been delayed to April.

Originally scheduled for February 3rd, this upcoming zombie romp will now release April 28th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and PC. It’s a delay of around 12 weeks, which isn’t much longer considering fans have been waiting for this sequel for nearly a decade. As for why developer Dambuster Studios and publisher Deep Silver have delayed Dead Island 2, the team wants more time to make sure the game is the best it can be at launch.

Here’s the full statement on the delay:

“We’ve got some major news, so let’s peel that Band-Aid right off. We’re postponing Dead Island 2 – the new release date is April 28, 2023. The irony of Dead Island’s delay hasn’t escaped us, and we’re just as disappointed as you no doubt. The delay is only 12 short weeks and development is now on the final straight: we’re going to take the time we need to make sure we can launch a game that we’re proud of. For those of you who have been waiting for years, thank you for staying with us.

“In the meantime, we’ll be releasing an exciting new trailer and gameplay during the Dead Island 2 showcase which premieres on December 6 on our Twitch and YouTube channels and on the Dead Island website.”
