The Manhattan grand jury, which was expected to consider criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, did not convene on Wednesday, sparking speculation that prosecutors have faced difficulties building their cases.
After hearing evidence on Monday, jurors were told they were not needed on Wednesday, according to two sources familiar with the case.
However, a court official told DailyMail.com that they will meet again at noon on Thursday, when prosecutors are “allowed to present one more witness.”

Meanwhile, the Manhattan district attorney’s office offered no explanation for Wednesday’s cancellation of the hearing, but Trump supporters were quick to argue that this meant the case was in trouble.
“They’re having trouble convincing the jury to swallow the case. It is a weak case and has caused divisions in the district attorney’s office,” said a source.
Other reports suggested the district attorney’s office might consider a change of strategy.
The grand jury meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, but postponements are not uncommon and jurors are warned to expect last-minute changes.
Either way, it leaves the nation on a cliffhanger.
The delay was first reported by Insider.
On Saturday, the former president announced that he expected to be arrested in connection with the case on Tuesday.
But Tuesday came and went without incident, and with no hearing on Wednesday, it’s unclear when the jury would next consider issuing an indictment.
A spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney’s office declined to comment on the reason for the delay.
Grand jury proceedings are shrouded in secrecy, making it difficult to track their ups and downs.

Prosecutors recently invited the former president himself to testify. And on Monday, jurors heard from a Trump ally, who was widely expected to be one of the final witnesses.
Meanwhile, Trump and his allies have attacked his former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen, who is now one of the key witnesses against him.
Trump used social media to fuel the attacks and raise questions about the strength of the case being built by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
“The Rogue Prosecutor, struggling with the Grand Jury, especially after the strong testimony against him by Felon Cohen’s highly respected former attorney, is trying to build a case that HAS NEVER BEEN BROUGHT BEFORE AND CANNOT ACTUALLY BE BROUGHT, Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
“If he spent this time, effort and money fighting AWESOME CRIME, which is destroying NYC, our once beautiful and safe Manhattan, which has become an absolute HELLHOLE, would be a much better place to live! ‘
The pending indictment in New York has sparked an avalanche of funds, with donors donating $1.5 million in the three days since the former president announced he expected to be arrested.
