Witnesses say Alex and Buster Murdaugh were “very drunk” at a South Carolina court convention just two months after the patriarch slaughtered half their family.
Buster, 26, remained silent during the trial in which father Alex was found guilty of the murders of Maggie and Paul Murdaugh on June 7, 2021.
Sources say the surviving relatives showed up drunk “en masse” to the convention in August 2021 – prompting guests to leave the room for fear they would “get into a brawl under a pile of Murdaughs.”
Randolph ‘Randy’ Murdaugh – Alex’s brother and Buster’s uncle – was also in attendance.
The revelations come after Buster reportedly erupted when jurors unanimously convicted his father on Thursday.

Randal ‘Randy’ Murdaugh was also present for the raucous night out. He is pictured attending his brother’s trial at Colleton County Court on Feb. 27
It marked a rare outburst for the youngest son who told the Daily Mail in November 2022 that he “wanted no writing anywhere that I support my father.”
“It got bad enough that some of us had to leave and go upstairs to get away from them. We didn’t want to get into a brawl under a pile of Murdaughs.”
It was previously reported that Randy and Buster were at the event, but Alex’s presence is new information.
“It was quite surprising to see,” the source said.
“Your whole family just got slaughtered and you should be worried about assassins lurking around every corner, but instead you screech and drink.”
Members of Alex’s former law firm PMPED were also reportedly with the couple that night.
The event benefited the South Carolina Association for Justice, of which Alex served as president in 2016.
Buster broke cover earlier on Saturday when photos emerged of him walking his dog with girlfriend Brooklynn White in South Carolina.
He had a tense expression on his face as he wandered through the Hilton Head neighborhood.
He and White share a modest $180,000 one-bedroom apartment in the area, about an hour’s drive from where the brutal murders took place.
Buster’s antics after the deaths of his mother and brother have repeatedly raised eyebrows.
In October 2021, he was pictured at a gambling table in Las Vegas with his uncle John Marvin Murdaugh.
Buster was spotted wearing a Vineyard Vines t-shirt, shorts and a cap while walking his dogs on a sunny Saturday in Hilton Head, South Carolina

Buster’s future remains uncertain after his father’s trial opened a barrel of worms for the Murdaugh family, which have been linked to a host of criminal charges.

He allegedly complained to his father about the photos during a prison visit, after which Alex advised him to “wear a hat” in public.
Buster’s future seems uncertain after the scandal, which opened a can of worms for the Murdaugh family and exposed a string of criminal charges to their name.
It shed new light on the death of Stephen Smith in 2015, whose body was found on the side of a Hampton County Road.
His skull was partially crushed, there was a hole in his forehead and his shoulder was dislocated, according to case documents and photos seen by his mother Sandy.
Sandy has repeatedly insisted that the Murdaughs had something to do with her son’s death and Buster’s name was mentioned several times in the investigation.
An onlooker at Alex’s sentencing on Friday morning could be heard yelling, “Buster is next… your son is next, Alex!”

He had studied law at the University of South Carolina.
According to reports, he had been expelled from school over a plagiarism incident, but his family paid a well-connected Colombian lawyer to secure his takeover.
At one point, Buster is said to have also worked for his father’s law firm.
