These photographers prove that they don’t need all the colors of the rainbow to create truly mesmerizing work.

Their photography has been honored in the Black and White Photo Awards 2022a photo contest that provides a platform for ‘incredible’ black and white photography around the world.

The competition, which is in its inaugural year, welcomed photographic entries in five categories – landscape, architecture, street, portrait and fauna and flora.

A hypnotic photo of a silverback mountain gorilla in Uganda, an atmospheric image of a well-trodden path in the Peak District and a romantic shot of light shining over a meadow in the Dolomites were among the photos that impressed the jury.

However, it is an adorable photo of a cheetah surrounded by her little cubs, ensnared by Belgian photographer Johan Willems, who is generally all-powerful, winning the top prize of £873 (€1,000).
